The “Hospital General Dr. Manuel Gea González" was founded more than 60 years ago, is a public institution, belonging to the federal government, located in the south of Mexico City, which has assigned the following functions:

• Provide medical consultation and hospitalization for the population requiring care in specialties with that account, with free admission criteria based on socio-economic conditions of users

• Train human resources for health in the basic specialties in medicine.

• Contribute to the development of scientific research in health, which results in better medical care and education to medical staff in training, and establish external coordination and carrying out actions of motivation, promotion and dissemination of research.
